The Book is in Print!

Speaking of Jack: A C. S. Lewis Discussion Guide is now in print. My copies arrived yesterday and I started shipping signed copies to those who have ordered from me.

I really like the way the book came out. The cover is beautiful, thanks to the work of Winged Lion Press. It also feels great. This cover is different from my other books in that it has a matte finish and so has a velvety feel to it which I like very much. This is also one of my larger books, at 278 pages.

Well, I could go on and on. Authors are always excited when they receive the first copies of their new book, whether it is their first, or as in this case, their fifth.

You can read a sample chapter of the book here:

You can order from Amazon here: http://www.amazon.com/Speaking-Jack-Lewis-Discussion-Guide/dp/1936294125/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1303843992&sr=8-6

If you order from Amazon, please write and post a review there as well!

Book arrived in the mail the other day! Thank you for the signature, the starting bid on ebay just increased if financial hardships ever dictate such a desperate act. I have been stealing these questions from your website for years for our group. Now my conscience can rest easy as I have contributed some recompense for my crime.

I'm glad you got it! You are welcome. More power to you on ebay :) The questions that used to be on my website were there just for that purpose. But now that it is in book form I was able to add a lot to it that wasn't there on the web site. Enjoy!

I can't wait to read your book. I heard you are coming to a book signing event in Tenn. this week. Some of my friends will be there. God bless you and your good work. Ecce, quam bonum! (Psalm 133)

Hi Will,

In light of the "end of the world" frenzy, I was wondering what you make of Lewis' essay, The World's Last Night? Specifically Lewis's understanding of Matt 24:34?

Thanks...

Interesting you should ask! I was asked that question at a book-signing last night. I really like Lewis' essay on The World's Last Night. I have a chapter with that same title in my book, Mere Theology. In that chapter I answer your question in detail and offer some alternative ways of interpreting that particular verse in Matthew. In short, I think Lewis is right about not setting dates and doing what God has called us to do in the here and now. If we are about God's business we will be ready whenever Christ comes again. For more on Matthew 24 you can listen to a sermon I preached on that text here: http://willvaus.com/matthew . Blessings....
