Last week I was in Austin, Texas where I gave the annual C. S. Lewis lecture at Concordia University (pictured above).
One of my hosts was Dr. Joel Heck, Professor of Theology at Concordia. Dr. Heck is the author of Irrigating Deserts: C. S. Lewis on Education. He has a C. S. Lewis related web site here: www.joelheck.com.
In the evening I spoke to The Friends of Fine Arts and Communication at Texas State University San Marcos. My presentation was preceded by wine and h'ors d'oeuvres pool-side at the beautiful home of one of my hosts.
My power point presentation for the evening was entitled: C. S. Lewis, Master Communicator. The presentation was well received and was followed by a book signing where a number of those gathered snapped up copies of all four of my books.
After the book-signing we retired to the home of Steve Beebe where I enjoyed perusing his wonderful collection of C. S. Lewis first editions, signed letters, and the only signed photo of C. S. Lewis known to exist. Below you can see some of Dr. Beebe's first editions of the Narnia books....
